The popularity has made Apple the third mobile phone maker in the world, based on the analysis of international data corporation. We know that the world has infected with the fever of iPhone. In most of the countries, iPhone is the most popular mobile phone. Now Apple has expanded its business worldwide. In China, Apple increased two flagship Apple Stores in Beijing and which makes its china sales even higher.

Apple rises from the fifth place to the third place because the sales of iPhone in the last quarter of 2011 broke the record. Nokia remains the first in the market, shipping 113 million phones in the final Q of year and shares a mobile phone market of 27%. Samsung follows it with a share of 22% market share. Apple sold a number of 37million cell phones and has the market share of 8.7%. LG of South Korea and ZTE of China ranks fourth and fifth in the market. ZTE of China dose well in the market, I think. It is the only Chinese phone company on the list of top 5. The china phone mainly sells good in the low-end market.

In the list of top 5 phone makers in the mobile market, we have not seen HTC of Taiwan which is now the third hottest smart phone maker worldwide, follows Apple and Samsung. I have to say, there are so many people in the world, not everyone would like to use smart phones. A huge number of phones are sold in the low-end market. In China, huge quantities of electronic factories are making cell phones without brands. They are purchased by peasant workers in China and also sell to people of undeveloped countries, like India and Africa. They also make some cheap android phones and sell them online, mostly to the US and Australia. They also provide Free Shipping service so that consumers are more willing to buy one.

However, the technology and society are processing, and maybe one day, people worldwide will finally choose smart phones. They give people a better experience and easy to use. Maybe when that day comes, the list of top 5 in the mobile market will change again, some mobile phone makers we are not familiar with may jump to the front, who knows? This is a global information age. 

It seems that the Americans are doomed to have a holiday with the bad weather, the rain and snow weather somehow makes them feel chill and bad. And it has low price for only 199 dollars which makes it more competitive.

So why it is so hot, usability, long battery life, a lot of apps, and reasonable price. The iPad 2 update too much. It’s thinner and lighter, has a better performance processor and display.

Also the hot battle field also attracts many cheap tablet manufactures. They equip their tablets with the android OS and low set-up and sell them at very low prices. Anyway, the king of tablets is still Ipad, at least, in recent years, no one could surpass it.

 

 

  It's a topic I've been wrestling with since the emergence of the HTC Evo 3D, the first 3D-capable smartphone. I came to the conclusion that it was largely a gimmick, or something that piques your interest but quickly fades away. For some, it's just a bit of headache-inducing flash.  

  Still, that hasn't stopped more companies from moving into the area. The latest two are media startup Cooliris and mobile advertising company Smaato, which recently said they were partnering to deliver 3D advertisements on mobile devices.

  Fortunately, the two aren't exactly talking about images that seemingly pop out of your iPhone. Rather, the service enables the delivery of 3D-rendered images, allowing you to rotate, disassemble, and reassemble that picture in a mobile ad. Since they don't pop off the screen, the images don't need any special displays or glasses. The two plan to show off the technology later this month at the AppNation conference in San Francisco, where the ads will show up on iPhones and iPads.

  Cooliris's business unit Adjitsu has a demo up showing off the ability to manipulate a fully rendered BMW. As you can see, it's pretty nifty.

  "Rich Media is an important part for the substantial growth of mobile advertising and we see this as a great opportunity for our developers and publishers to maximize their revenue," Smaato CEO Ragnar Kruse said in a statement earlier this month.

  Cooliris's Adjitsu will use Smaato, which already delivers mobile ads to a network of advertisers and devices, to expand its presence in Asia and Europe.

  "Together we will enable consumers to re-experience brands, products and services like never before," Cooliris CEO Soujanya Bhumkar said.

  Still, while it's cool enough technology, I still question how effective it will be.

  When I tested the Evo 3D, I was eager to show off the phone's special camera and display to coworkers. They agreed it was cool, but their interest waned fast. I wonder if the same fleeting engagement would occur with Adjitsu's ads.

  To be fair, Adjitsu's technology isn't the kind of gimmicky 3D that the Evo 3D, and later on the LG Thrill 4G, employs. The BMW example looks fairly practical if you're interested in buying a new car.

  There's been a lot made out of mobile ads in general. Mobile adverting is why Google got into the mobile game with Android in the first place. It's also one of the primary business models driving the apps market.

  But I sometimes wonder how effective these banner and display ads are. When playing games, browsing the mobile Web, or watching videos, I largely ignore the ads, or speed through them as quickly as possible.

  Maybe 3D-rendered images may cause me to pause a bit. For now, I'm still not sold.

  In 1898, Nokia was set up in Finland, in the 1990s, it became the world largest cell phone producer. For a long time, it has been the giant of cell phone industry, Motorola, Samsung are always pacing after it.

  We here feel sorry for the giant’s fall but at the same feel happy for the rise of new technology and innovation of the IOS and android OS.

Fellow gaming editor Erik Norris and I sat together during Sony's press conference at E3 this past June. We had our fill of pre-show jambalaya (no shit, it was delicious) and were guzzling down the free water when Sony started their festivities.  The thing I remember most about the barrage of gaming news and demos was the price point for the PS Vita. This handheld was announced at two separate costs: $250 for the base, wi-fi only model, and $300 for the wi-fi and 3G model.  You know what? I was stunned.   I'm not one for monthly contract fees, so the 3G model was never a point of consideration for me. But, had the wi-fi only model been priced right, I told myself that I'd be buying the system on day one. $250 was perfect. At the time, that put the PS Vita at the same price as the Nintendo 3DS. The 3DS has since then seen a major price drop, so the PS Vita now stands alone at $250; but, still, the price works for the device. I was in for one. And then Sony started announcing specs and price points. The battery life for the device is listed at roughly 4 hours. That's without wireless connectivity enabled and, probably, a moderate level of brightness. That's…low.   Oh, but don't worry, Sony's announced that you'll be able to extend the battery life by 4-7 hours with their external, portable, rechargeable battery. It'll only cost ya $50. But, hey, $50 for more battery life ain't bad.   Then came news of the PS Vita's storage format. The system will have its own, proprietary memory cards. They will range from 4GB to 32GB in size and will cost anywhere from $30-$120. If you're looking to download a ton of content, the larger sticks are a must. Heck, if you're looking to download anything, you're going to need more than 4GB of free space. Here's what sucks: some games will require memory cards in order to save. Among them are the best of the PS Vita's launch lineup; games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Ridge Racer will all need memory cards. At least the price of games is reasonable. They're each selling for $40. I'm not complaining, that's fair for a great experience on the portable level, really. Here's the thing… the PS Vita went from perfectly-priced to shit-expensive over the course of the last several months. $250? Forget it. $250 for the base system, $30 for the base memory card and $40 for a single game. You'll need to spend $320 to enjoy one good game on the PS Vita at launch. That's speaking conservatively.   If you want the best of the best, here's what you're looking at… $300 for the system, $50 for the extra battery, $120 for the memory card and $40 for a single game. That's $510 for a system at launch. That doesn't even include the unannounced monthly contract price for the 3G connectivity you'll be buying.   I'm sorry, but $320 is not a good price point in today's economy. I can get a 3DS bundled with a great game for $200, and that system requires no extras for play. They include a base memory card in the box. Sony? Nope, just the system, nothing else. Consider me stunned, again, and out.  

  We have heard from the news and internet that China is a potential huge market for luxury consumption. From the data, we know that China is becoming the second largest luxury consumption country. However, China is still a developing country the income per capita locates at the low level of the world. So what makes this happen and why?   As we know, there are no China Brands defined as luxury brands. So when the Chinese get richer, they want to buy something expensive to show their wealth. All this new wealth has driven produced a new middle class, and one that is to show off from the rice paddies. And what is the best way to do this, with a Louis Vuitton bag, Omega watches. The result is an extraordinary boom in the big luxury brands in China. The Chinese spent 4 to 5 billion dollars on luxury goods in tourist hotspots such as Hong Kong and Italy last year (like the Japanese, they tend to equate holidays with shopping) and another 1 or 2 billion dollars at home.   Until now all the money has been running out from China’s biggest cities, such as Shanghai and Beijing, but the real growth area for luxury goods in China is in the smaller cities like Chongqing, Wuhan. China has almost 100 cities with a population of more than a million people and as the spoils of economic growth spread, so will the demand for high-end purchasing. Goldman Sachs estimates that within the next five years the number of Chinese people would be likely to spend on such non-essentials will rise from the quite much. “Citigroup expects that annual sales of luxury goods in China will grow very much over the next five years,” says Elaine Moore in the FT. Goldman Sachs is just as bullish: it expects the Chinese to be buying nearly 30% of the world’s luxury goods within ten years.  Also, there are some fake luxury brands in China imitating the real luxury brands in the markets and in people’s hands. Having not experienced Mao’s Cultural Revolution, these consumers are unlikely to be bothered by the same anxieties as their grandparents or parents about stability and the weakness of the country’s social safety net. As a result, they should drive wave after wave of demand for luxury goods over the next decade. Surveys show that 92% of Japanese women own a Louis Vuitton handbag. There is every sign that the Chinese are in the middle of being gripped by a similar madness. We have a look at some of the companies likely to benefit from this binge below.

 Not long ago, the iphone 4s launched into the market, brought a wave of purchasing summit. Right after that, Samsung released their new flagship phone, the Galaxy Nexus. The much-anticipated new Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – or ICS if you’re being very 'now' – the latest version of Google’s mobile OS. Pick it up and it’s immediately clear that you’re in the company of a quality phone. It’s quite a handful at 136 x 68mm, but pleasingly slim at just 9mm. For the size, it’s also surprisingly light at 135g, due largely to the all-plastic casing. The 4.65in capacitive touch screen takes up most of the front and virtually disappears when the phone powers down, giving it a sheen of glossy black glass.

And what a screen it is. It’s a Super AMOLED HD number, with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution, all crammed in at 316ppi. That’s 0.3in bigger than Samsung’s flagship Galaxy SII and a real advance on that phone’s 800 x 480 resolution too. With a beautifully wide viewing angle, it’s arguably the best display you’ll see on any mobile phone today.

And as an English teacher in China, the problem doesn’t stop in the classroom. But everyone knows these arguments won’t stand in today’s international economy. Even many Chinese are tired of its own culture lessening the value of Chinese science and innovation around the world. In a recent interview with NPR, Helen Zhang, who is intent on creating a science journal . China is tired of being embarrassed internationally, and the country is making every effort to increase what it calls its “soft power.” Outside of China, the country is well known for its political oppression, and now plagiarism. Beijing has been trying to soften its appearance to the rest of the world lately, even investing heavily in the film industry to try to deliver another Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-like blockbuster that would accentuate the more desirable, more colorful aspect to Chinese culture.

It looks like Beijing will have to try a little bit harder, because the recent unearthing of China’s intellectual property violations isn’t going to sit well with the rest of the world that puts a premium on individual property. As China’s global presence becomes larger, it should be held more accountable for these types of infringements. For a country that expects to be a “research powerhouse” by 2020, the intellectual community of China has its work cut out for them.
