Australian Tennis Open 2012…….

Am I getting old and cranky? (undoubtedly!), or are Tennis Players just a rare, delicate and sensitive breed??

As an audience we can’t talk, whistle, chew, crunch, munch, burp, cough, laugh, hiccup or even breathe loudly at the wrong time!!!

Insects are disturbing, falling seagull feathers have the ability to disrupt games, unsettle the little darlings and take them ‘out of their comfort zone’…..

Matches on outside courts have the added benefit of hearing crowd clapping, umpire announcements and ‘ball whacking’ the surface coming from adjoining courts……..but MY BLOODY RUSTLING CHIP PACKET IS DISTRESSING to their first serve????????????????????

I seem to recall Davis Cup Ties in Spain were the crowd noise rivalled an ACDC concert, but that was acceptable??

As spectators…I’m sure we all find the decibel shattering noises made by Sharapova and Azarenka disturbing, psychologically damaging and just freaking annoying!!! Inhuman and health concerning noises come from these chicks…something could rupture!!!

One would think the ‘distressed sound of a cat having it’s tail bitten off’ would much more distracting to an opponent than any noise ‘we’ could make??

I need my towel…take the plastic off my racquet….throw me every god damn ball to choose from……oh, and come over here and wipe this smudge of sweat from the surface…

Delicate, delicate little millionaires…….love watching the sport, but suspect it would be a lot more enjoyable with the MUTE button on!!!

Hey, maybe I’m just bitter that there are no Aussies left in the draw and the stunning Patrick Rafter is no longer playing??  ;D
