Penyandang cacat masih mengalami perlakuan tidak adil di negara ini, termasuk di dunia kerja. Ibu Negara Ani Yudhoyono berharap para pengidap cacat bisa terserap di dunia kerja agar bisa mendapatkan hak yang sama.

"Saya berharap penyandang cacat  tidak hilang harapan. Karena kita sama-sama makhluk Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Cacat tubuh tidak boleh menjadi penghalang guna mencapai kehidupan yang lebih baik," jelas Ani saat melepas jalan santai para penyandang cacat  di depan Gedung RRI, Jln. Medan Merdeka Barat, Jakarta Pusat, Minggu (4/12).

"Ke depan perlu terus disosialisasikan agar penyandang cacat  bisa diterima ke dalam dunia kerja, sesuai dengan UU Nomor 4 Tahun 1997 sehingga penyandang cacat tidak merasa dikucilkan," imbuhnya.

Ani berharap, akses pelayanan publik, pendidikan, latihan keterampilan, kesehatan, dan kabar bagi para penyandang disabilitas selalu tersedia. Sementara Kepala Pemberitaan LPP RRI Martoyo mengatakan, kegiatan ini mendapatkan penghargaan Museum Rekor Indonesia (Muri). Jalan santai ini memberdayakan RRI di daerah untuk mengumpulkan 12 ribu penyandang cacat di seluruh Indonesia.

"Kita menggerakkan RRI seluruh Indonesia sekitar 60 persen. 'Kan masuk Muri untuk peserta jalan sehat terbanyak untuk penyandang cacat, lebih dari 12 ribu," jelas Martoyo.

Di Jakarta sendiri, ada 1.000 penyandang cacat yang terlibat. Masing-masing 250 orang tunanetra, tunarungu, tunadaksa, dan tuna grahita. Rute gerak jalan santai di Jakarta adalah kantor RRI-Lingkaran Bank Indonesia-RRI.
