It is not difficult to Answer a PETITION FOR MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE yourself (e-mail me if you need a template from your jurisdiction to follow, courts now have online rules for individuals without attorneys)and often this alone is enough for a Judge to see when a plaintiff does not have what it takes to foreclose against the homeowner, YES, EVEN when the homeowner is late making their mortgage payments. A default does not give your lender the right to take your home. Believe me, your lender broke your mortgage agreement sooner than you did, try 30 days after you signed your mortgage agreement when they securitized your mortgage to be sold into the securities market!
